Start: Begin by speaking to King Narnode Shareen in the Grand Tree.
Requirements: At least
level 25 Agility, and the ability to defeat a level 172 Demon.
What You Need: All items received during the quest.
Getting Started
First off, speak to King Narnode Shareen, who can be found in the Grand Tree. The Grand Tree is located
in the northern part of the Tree Gnome Stronghold, found to the northwest of Ardougne. He will give you a Translation Book
and a Bark Sample to try and find out what may be wrong with the Grand Tree.
Hazelmere
Now head to the island east of Yanille and go inside of the house, guarded by level 44 Jungle Spiders. Speak
to Hazelmere and give him the sample of bark. He will speak in a strange language, and you'll ask him to write it down.
You will receive some Notes of what he said:
By using your Translation Book to translate this into readable words, you'll find that it actually means "A
man came to me with the King seal. I gave human Daconia rocks and Daconia rocks will kill trees!"
Go back to King Narnode and talk to him. He should ask you what Hazelmere said, and you'll need to choose the
message as shown above. You may need to choose the "none of these" option until you see the correct message. After you've
told him, he will be shocked.
Glough
Now find Glough (the bad guy in the quest) who is southeast of the Grand Tree, upstairs in a small tree.
Speak to him and he will tell you that he'll take care of it. Go back to the King, who says that they have a prisoner and
he's in jail at the top of the tree.
Head up the ladder to the top of the Grand Tree and speak to Charlie, the prisoner. He will tell you
to search Glough's house, so go back to Glough's house, search the Cupboard and you'll find his journal.
Speak to the King but he refuses to believe that Glough is behind the plot. Talk to Glough again and he will
arrest you! You'll find yourself in jail with Charlie, and he'll tell you about Glough's fleet of Warships being built, along
with a password: Ka-Lu-Min. The king will show up and releases you from prison.
More Evidence
Be sure to have some sort of teleport and take the nearby Gnome Glider to Karamja, and you'll crash, surrounded
by level 53 Jogres. Run east and try to open the gate, but a Shipworker will stop you. He'll ask for the password (Ka, Lu,
Min). Once you're inside, head to the dock and find the level 23 Foreman. You can either kill him or talk to him (and
answer his questions) to get a Note. His questions and answers are:
- "How are Glough and his wife?" - "Sadly his wife is no longer with us."
- "What is his favorite food?" - "Pickled hole worms."
- "What is the name of Glough's Girlfriend?" - Anita
Head back to the Grand Tree, but now the guards won't let you in through the gate. You can teleport using Spirit
Trees if you've completed the Tree Gnome Village Quest. If not, talk to Femi and
she'll sneak you in using her cart. Talk to the King, who still refuses to believe you and he sends you away. Go back to Charlie,
who mentions Glough's girlfriend named Anita may be able to help.
Anita lives northwest of the Grand Tree, near the Swamp. She will give you a key, which you can use on the chest
in Glough's house to find some Notes about taking over RuneScape. Go back to the King, who still will not believe you, and
he says that the guards found some sticks in Glough's house.
He will give them to you and they appear to spell out "Tuzo." Now go to Glough's house and be sure to bring
some Prayer Potions, food and some Ranging or Maging equipment. There's a tree leading upstairs to a Gnome Watch Tower, and
you need at least level 25 Agility to climb it. You'll see some stands, where you can place the sticks from west to east spelling
T-U-Z-O.
The Demon
Once you're sure that you are ready to fight against a level 172 Black Demon, go down the trapdoor. Glough will
appear and introduce his 'little' Demon pet. A spooky melody will play, the camera will zoom out and the level 172 Black Demon
will appear.
If you decide to fight it using melee, you'll most likely need prayer potions and the Protect From Melee Prayer.
Ranging or Maging it will be easier, as there are rocks that you can stand behind and attack it.
Once you've defeated the Demon, find King Narnode by following the tunnel and at first he will not believe you
(he's stubborn). He will send some guards to see if it's true, and then he will apologize. He will also ask you to find the
Daconia Rock which is hidden in the roots of the Grand Tree. Search all of the roots in the area to find the rocks, and then
bring them to the King to receive your reward.
